I'm not sure that is the issue I am having. The cursor icon does not even change to the icon with the plus sign when I hover over the GNS530 in the 172. The icon does change (and work), however, in some other airplanes.

I am having the same problem. I downloaded the latest launcher program and installed the latest firmware, but still have the same issue you described.
