Displays not popping out in 2020 after using them in 2024

I've been using the WASM plugin ever since buying the G1000 suite with no issues in FS 2020. Then I bought and installed 2024, selected 2024 and started the sim from within the app. Not able to pop out the PFD and MFD. So I tried the Configure Again button. It does nothing. So I tried the Install Again button. Nothing. This was with v1.14.0.

So I uninstalled/reinstalled with v1.14.4. When uninstalling 1.14.0 I did a deep dive into the registry and got rid of everything related to the app. Then I reinstalled with 1.14.4. Then somehow in MSFS 2024 I was able to pop out the PFD and MFD windows to the desktop and drag them to the FlightSimBuilder displays. Horrible resolution but I restarted FS 2024 and now they pop out to the FSB displays with the correct resolution.

Using the WASM app I went back to FS 2020 because I fly multiplayer with friends there. Now I can't pop out the displays in FS 2020. I went back to 1.14.0 and still can't. the Configure again button and Install again button still do nothing.

FS 2024 works still.

I tried both 1.14.0 and 1.14.4. I restarted the computer after each install.

Both versions of the sim are from the Store, not Steam.

I'm about to throw the FSB hardware into the trash. I've literally spent HOURS trying to get them to work on both versions of the sim. I'm so frustrated right now.

We found another possible workaround on MSFS forum for this MSFS bug. If you enable Developer mode, you can then change the plane livery while already in flight. Once you change the livery from the top menu, it looks like it reloads the new plane and fixes the issue with popout.

So I was forced to update the firmware when I started the plugin again. Now it only shows the audio panel and the PFD as being configured. The Start Flight Simulator, Configure again, and Install again buttons do nothing.

I will reiterate my absolute frustration with this issue. I have spent more hours trying to fix this than I've spent using the hardware since I bought it. Please help!!!!!

No worries, all you need to do is to open a windows joystick controller and make sure you have PFD and MFD. If two PFD, then you need to press and hold <-> button on the second unit for 3 seconds to switch it to MFD. You can then see in windows joystick controller you have PFD and MFD. After which you can start the launcher and all will be good. I've sent a note to dev team to add a note to remind to switch one unit to MFD after FW update.
