Problems with G1000 PFD and MFD

I have both a G1000 PFD and MFD and have been using them with the Beechcraft Baron 58. Everything seems to work OK. I have read that the devices can be used with any aircraft. My problem is the following; I set up the Baron pop out both G1000 devices and fly--no problem. I choose "restart the flight." I have to pop them out again. If I choose a new aircraft to fly and it does not already have the G1000 units how the heck do I add the fightsimbuilder? devices. I really enjoy the units but I would like to try them in other aircraft. Being 86 years old I am no computer wizard. The hub says both units are OK.

If I follow your problem description, the behavior you describe is a funciton of MS Flight Simulator, not the FSB G1000 units. The G1000 pop-out is a Flight Sim feature, and as a result, each time you restart a flight or load another G1000-equipped aircraft, the FS G1000 units have to be popped-out once more. There's a free app called FS PopOut Manager that you can get that will automate that for you.

As for non-G1000 equipped aircraft, until FSB releases native G1000 (or G3000, G3x, etc) avionics, like they have for the steam gauges and the upcoming G600, we don't have any way to fly something like a Boeing 737 using G1000s. You could popout the Boeing or Airbus screens, but they won't fit well, and the buttons and knobs wont necessarily function the way you'd expect. As for an analog aircraft, the steam gauges don't pop-out, so those are also going to be limited.

I hope this helps.
