When you installed yours, did you have issues? I tried these back in June and could never get it to work with X-Plane (worked great with MSFS). I just re-ordered and hoping the new software upgrade gets me to the finish line

That was about the time I was moving everything from upstairs to downstairs so I can't really say regarding back then. Works well now and the updates have been good so far with the new high preformance option.When you installed yours, did you have issues? Well, back to my original issue. I have a new unit, installed the launcher for both X-Plane and MSFS. MSFS works great. When I start up the X-Plane with the launcher, the display only shows static images; it basically does not reflect what the actual gauges show. For example, the altimeter is stuck on 0 and the RPM shows 1700rpm. This is the exact same issue I had when I tried these before, so there must be something in my X-Plane setup that is causing the problem. When I check the joystick configuration for steam gauges, everything is blank, even after I select 'reset to defaults'. Frustrating; I had hoped this would work now.
Check Your X-Plane Installation:
There may be an issue with the x-plane_install_11.txt (or x-plane_install_12.txt) file located in your %LocalAppData% folder.
This file should contain a single line with the correct path to your X-Plane installation. We’ve found that, in some cases, X-Plane may fail to update this file with the correct location after a re-installation.
To resolve this, please verify that the file contains the correct path. If it does not, you may need to update it manually.
Additionally, the X-Plane launcher should indicate that X-Plane has been successfully connected on the launcher window bottom right corner.
Also note that there will be no specific bindings listed under "X-Plane Assignments" because the controls are managed directly through the launcher.

Thanks for the quick response. The file you mentioned has a single line with the correct path. Looks like this: D:\X-Plane 12/
When the launcher kicks on X-Plane, it comes up fine, the launcher says X-Plane is Running, however the bottom of the screen still says Sim connection:Waiting.

OK, think I found my issue.; and it wasn't the newer version of the launcher. In X-Plane, under Network, there is an option to allow/disable incoming traffic. Mine was set to 'disable'. Once I enabled that the launcher showed connected, and the gauges came to life. That said, everything seemed to function perfectly in the Cessna 172 model. However, in one of my non-Laminar planes (Piper Cherokee), the gauges seem to work fine (all except the turn coordinator) and none of the knobs have any effect. I'm guessing there is some configuration file that can be copied over to those planes?

Anyone notice that the VOR knobs are reversed? Meaning, the left button controls the center VOR and the right button controls the left one.
I'm using X-Plane 12 and I just noticed that the gauge knobs seem to work fine with the default Cessna 172, but if you have a different Cessna (I'm using one that's not fuel injected) they don't. Or even a different 3rd party plane from X-Plane 11 like the Sonex Waiex. Is there a more general way to map the knobs to features for other aircraft? The knobs don't work on even the other built-in aircraft like the Super Cub

I was under the impression that the steam gauge pack only worked with default X-Plane 12 planes. Am I wrong? If so, I would love to use them for a Piper 140 I bought

Is there a trick to get them to work then? I tried an aftermarket plane and while some of the controls worked, not all of them did (don't remember which ones now). Are there files that need to be copied to the aftermarket file folders?You can use it with pretty much any airplane
