We’ve discovered that occasionally X-Plane may experience a minor bug that prevents the launcher from detecting X-Plane correctly. The launcher looks for a file named x-plane_install_11.txt or x-plane_install_12.txt in the %LocalAppData% folder. This file should contain only one line, which points to the correct X-Plane installation location.
Another issue occurs if X-Plane 11 was previously installed but later uninstalled, while the x-plane_install_11.txt file remains. In this case, the launcher will continue searching for X-Plane 11. To resolve this, simply delete the x-plane_install_11.txt file.
If you’re encountering the “X-Plane Not Found” error in the launcher, please check this file and ensure it has the correct path to your X-Plane installation. If necessary, update the file manually.
