FlightSimBuilderLauncher not launching

I just downloaded the FlightSimBuilder Launcher v1.14.1 and installed it on my brand new PC with Windows 11 (up to date). When I click to open the launcher the launcher window opens and has a pop-up saying "New version 1.14.2 available. Do you want to update?" and then the launcher shuts down after about 1 second. Even during that 1 second I can't click yes or no to the pop-up question. I've looked on the FlightSimBuilder website and can't find a v1.14.2 anywhere.

The only other app I've installed on this PC is Xplane12 (which runs great).

Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Can you download the new version directly? It's been updated on the launcher download page

I was able to download the new version, and now it doesn't ask if I want to download the new version, but it still shuts down after about a second. Is there anything about a new Windows 11 OS that might prevent it from staying open?

FWIW, the X-Plane version of the Launcher opens fine on my machine (also running Windows 11). Is it possible that whatever you are using for antivirus/malware protection is interfering with the app? Perhaps try adding the directory you've installed the launcher into as an exclusion in your AV software.

That's a total shot in the dark and is likely not the problem but it's worth a try.

Can you by any chance share a screenshot from the Windows Event Manager where it crashes? We don't have any reports of crashes so perhaps it's something else like pointed above. We should be able to see more from the event manager logs.

The exception code that FSLauncher logged (0xe0434352) is the exception logged for all .NET exceptions.

Looking at the .NET exception you posted, it seems to be crashing due to not being able to find SimConnect. But does the X-Plane version of the launcher still use SimConnect (even though that is for MSFS)?

There was new update was released today addressing some of the x-plane issues. Can you please see if this resolves your issues?

You can find the most updated version of the launcher here https://flightsimbuilder.com/pages/flightsimbuilder-launcher
