Received my G1000 TNxi but I cannot get any buttons/knobs to work on X-Plane 12

It is so frustrating, spending this kind of money and things don't work out of the box. I am running Windows 11 Pro with all current updates, and X-plane 12.2.1. I first downloaded the FlightSimBuilder Launcher 1.16, not realizing a newer version 1,2 is available. The previous version installed just fine and runs too. I ended up popping out the displays for the stock C-172. Everything seems to work, except any of the buttons and knobs. I now installed 1.2 but when I launch it I get the following error "an exception occurred, please check your logs for more details"

The log file shows on this one entry
08/09/2025 11:12:13(498) - Error - Set property 'System.Windows.ResourceDictionary.Source' threw an exception.

And because this is not enough, my shipment arrived without the audio panel mount and short of one USB cable. I already contacted support via e-mail and I am waiting on a reply.

Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I guess my eyes are not the best anymore, v1.16 is the more recent version, read 1.20, instead of 1.2.0. Anyway, I am back on 1.16, which launches without issues, and it connects to the SIM just fine, but still no buttons/knows work.

Were you able to install the new panels in the metal stands? I'm trying but it's a really tight fit and I don't want to force things....

Yes, I had no problem; they rest on top of the frame, rather than inserting them. There is zero documentation on this, which is very disappointing.

Are you using it with X-Plane 12, and if so, did you get the buttons/knobs to work?

Yes, - now I found the new triangle brackets in a separate package and I was able to use the new screws and nuts to bolt them in. Yes, zero documentation.

Was that a yes to my question if you were able to get the buttons/knows to work? If yes, let's share the steps you took.

So far, I am very disappointed. I emailed support twice already, and I haven't received a response.

Update:

Today I finally took my first flight with both units fully operational. Initially, both screens were stuck displaying as PFDs. After digging through countless YouTube videos, I discovered that holding down the COM swap switch for a few seconds switches the second display to MFD. That simple step solved the issue—but frustratingly, there’s no documentation on this feature anywhere. I must’ve combed through the instructions a hundred times.

I’ve emailed support twice and still haven’t heard back.

I found an entry at the end of the instructions on how to switch from PFD to MFD, after about the 101st time looking at it. But it requires more than just a click on the Right <->; it requires pressing and holding until the lights flash to switch between PDF and MFD, and there is no mention of this at all. It should have been mentioned earlier in the instructions.

I find it very confusing to mix MSFS with X-Plane instructions, or any other sim software.

This forum too is just a mix between them; one wastes a lot of time reading and then realizes it is for the other SIM software.
